WEIGHT LOSS/GAIN

If you weight too much, it is important to lose weight. Overweight and obesity increase your chance of any health problems:

  • Diabetes
  • Arthritis
  • High blood pressure
  • Heart disease
  • Stroke
  • Liver disease
  • Infertility
  • Sleep apnea
  • Mental health problems
  • Certain cancers…

Many people know that they need to lose weight, but they are unsure how to do so. I work with my patients to address this issues, by helping them set realistic weight loss goals. You may not realize that you need to avoid certain foods and eat more of others, or maybe you are already eating the healthy foods but you are failing at controlling your portion size, I can help you achieve the healthy lifestyle that you have always wanted. The best way to make a change is by implementing sustainable and well considered adjustments to your lifestyle.

Gaining or regaining weight can be as challenging as a weight loss journey. You may need to gain weight if:

  • You have had a serious illness or lengthy hospitalization
  • You are an athlete who wants to build strength and muscle to perform better
  • If you have unintentionally lost weight…

Thus, being underweight can be a concern if it’s the result of poor nutrition, if you are pregnant or have other health issues. I will help you ensure that your diet is balanced and provide enough calories for your height, age and activity level.

WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM

The “weight loss” program helps to rebalance your diet while maintaining your metabolism, your body and the foods available in your environment to get you to your healthy weight. Weight loss is usually 3 to 5 pounds in the first week, depending on the starting weight and weight loss goal.
